CLEO Systems and eConsult Health improve patient pathways

Interoperability, integration and innovation, working together to improve patient pathways

Published by CLEO Systems on 11/08/2021

CLEO Systems and eConsult Health are working together to provide benefits to Urgent Care providers by reducing pressures, improving the patient experience and enabling a seamless patient pathway. By creating an interface between eConsult Health's eTriage software and the CLEO Patient Tracker (PTL), the patient journey is simplified and streamlined.

The partnership demonstrates how collaborative working and interoperability across the healthcare system can improve the patient journey, enable co-ordination with other parts of the extended health and care system and provide joined up care for the patient in the right place, at the right time.

CLEO Systems develops clinical software solutions to support Urgent and Primary Care providers to deliver healthcare services in a variety of out-of-hospital settings. The company provides a fully integrated, interoperable suite of solutions which deliver safe and efficient patient management. eConsult Health provides an eTriage system designed to alleviate pressure in Emergency Departments (EDs). The software automatically checks-in and triages patients upon arrival, this ultimately reduces wait times and improves the patient journey.

The partnership between CLEO Systems and eConsult Health is already providing benefits for patients and Urgent Care companies; and the two digital health technology providers have worked alongside each other, creating an interoperable solution to improve the efficiency of urgent treatment centres (UTCs). CLEO and eConsult Health were two of three partners that worked collaboratively to provide an end-to-end digital solution which enables patients to move seamlessly through the patient pathway at a UTC in East Kent.

Richard Burton, Commercial Sales & Marketing Director at CLEO Systems explains, 'Interoperability is a key driver for us. It is very positive that we have been able to begin to overcome barriers to interoperability by working with eConsult Health. Given the success of our collaboration, I look forward to seeing the benefits to Urgent Care providers, especially given that it continues to be such a challenging time, and it is clear that easing pressure on Urgent Care has never been so important. This collaboration is the first of its type in a UTC, the value and positive impact this could make to the provision of urgent care is truly exciting.'

Mark Harmon, Strategy & Brand Director at eConsult Health comments: “Digital triage is emerging as a powerful tool in reducing hospital waiting times and easing the burden on A&E staff. It ensures a patient only has to explain their symptoms and provide a history once and enables hospitals to prioritise the sickest people and most urgent cases. By joining forces with CLEO we are closing more and more of the information gaps that slow down or trip up doctors, nurses and administrative staff working in a pressurized Urgent care environment.”
