BrisDoc announces the decision to adopt CLEO Systems’ CLEO CORE as its new Electronic Patient Management system for SevernSide Integrated Urgent Care. This decision comes after a comprehensive evaluation by the EPM Group, which was established to manage the transition from Adastra to a more modern and flexible clinical patient management system.

BrisDoc is an NHS Healthcare provider and employee-owned social enterprise which operates in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, serving over a million patients a year. SevernSide Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) is a 24/7 NHS Urgent Care Service which combines NHS 111 and the Out of Hours service, and other urgent care services, and allows people to speak to a clinician when they urgently need to, and when their own GP practice is closed.

CLEO Systems emerged as the preferred supplier choice due to the organisation's alignment with BrisDoc’s values and its proven track record with other Urgent and Out of Hospital Care providers, ensuring compliance and reliability. It promises a collaborative partnership aimed at improvement and innovation, crucial for BrisDoc’s evolving healthcare needs.

Key benefits of CLEO:

  • Organisational fit and innovation: CLEO’s social enterprise status and collaborative approach aligns with BrisDoc’s vision
  • Functionality and user experience: CLEO exceeds current needs and has a creative roadmap for future enhancements
  • Interoperability and patient experience: Integrations with existing systems will streamline operations and improve patient interactions
  • Clinical safety and security compliance: CLEO meets all necessary NHS England assurance standards
  • Data richness: CLEO is a data rich platform enabling users and management access to actionable insights, simplifying decision making and informing opportunity for continuous improvement
  • Cost-effective and scalable: CLEO is a cost-neutral solution that supports scalability and flexibility

Dr Kathy Ryan, BrisDoc's Medical Director, said "Following an in-depth review and consideration of multiple options, we are excited to announce that BrisDoc will be transitioning to CLEO CORE for SevernSide. This move aligns with our commitment to providing innovative, efficient and patient-centred care. CLEO CORE not only meets our clinical needs - it also offers a forward-thinking approach that will support our future growth and technological advancements."

Dr Ryan added: "This transition is a significant step towards enhancing our service delivery and patient care. We are confident that CLEO will provide a strong, innovative, patient-focused solution. Our teams are committed to working diligently throughout this transition to ensure minimal disruption and maximum benefit for our patients and staff."

David Brown, Managing Director at CLEO Systems said: "We are delighted to welcome BrisDoc to the CLEO Systems’ community. This supports our drive to constantly innovate and collaborate with like-minded organisations who are passionate about improving the safety, efficiency and experience of those working and accessing urgent care services."

The transition to CLEO CORE will begin immediately, with a planned go-live date in March 2025. This timeline includes rigorous user acceptance testing to ensure a smooth implementation.
