Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has implemented CLEO SOLO EPS from CLEO Systems. The trust will be using CLEO SOLO EPS for their patients, initially within the Pregnancy Assessment Unit (PAU) and will then roll out to other areas following a successful pilot phase.
CLEO SOLO EPS has a streamlined approach which empowers clinicians to prescribe medication electronically that can be collected from a community pharmacy of the patient’s choice. This improves the experience for patients and the prescribing clinician and reduces waiting times.
The trust will also be the first of CLEO Systems’ customers to use SMS functionality within CLEO SOLO EPS in the coming months. This will enable users to share the prescription details via SMS after the successful sending of a prescription. The SMS message will include the Script ID of the prescription, along with directions to the community pharmacy where the prescription can be collected.
Sarah Chandler, Deputy Chief Pharmacist says: "This is a very exciting development for the organisation and will benefit patients and clinicians alike, especially given the geography of Northumbria. We hope that deploying the system helps provide more timely access to medicines and improves the patient experience."
